Google 2FA will affect scan to email effective 5/30/22
As your trusted information management partner, we want to make sure you are aware of an upcoming change from Google that may impact your devices that use Google accounts to send and receive mail.
Google has announced the following:
“To help keep your account secure, starting May 30, 2022, Google will no longer support the use of third-party apps or devices which ask you to sign into your Google account using only your username and password”.
If you are using Google accounts to send email from devices and applications that are not capable of two factor authentication (2FA) this change WILL impact, you. Examples of these devices are scanners and multi-functional printers (MFP) used for scan to email. If your scanning device is using a password-only Google account for scan to email, then scanning will no longer work on that device as of May 30, 2022
